About Post 73

Who We Are:

The Cape Cod Amateur Radio Explorer Post 73 is a registered Explorer Post with the Learning For Life Program. The Post was formed in 2009 by the Barnstable Amateur Radio Club, our sponsoring organization. The post goals are to have youth members achieve an amateur radio license and to upgrade to their potential. Post 73 will also feature activities promoting community service, emergency service and the understanding of radio electronics. It will also engage in program activities centered on career opportunities, life skills, citizenship, character education and leadership experience.

What We Do:

The program of the post will constantly change with the members.  Youth participants determine the program based on the goals of the Post and their collective interests and abilities. It is the job of the Post's advisers to assist and oversee the program.

Some activities we may do include:

  • Communications for events
  • Radio contests
  • Community service events
  • Radio Direction Finding (aka Fox Hunt)
  • Emergency Communications
